Otterly in Love: The Last Songs

As the night was coming to an end, the drinks were flowing (and had been for a few hours), and even those "I don't like dancing" type people had finally joined us on the floor. While I couldn't believe that the night was coming to an end so soon (it really does fly by!),

"Spice up your life" (obviously we loved this part)

And then, it was time for the last song of the night. A given for us was Journey, Don't Stop Believin'. Mr. O and I love to sing this in the car (neither of us can sing), so we just lived it up for those last few minutes.

Otterly in Love: Stand Very, Very Still

Hive, I've got to start this recap with advice that I heard over and over throughout planning, but never really understood until it was our big day - your wedding day will fly by. It will be over before you know it, and you'll wonder where the entire day went. I always thought this was a little bit of a myth; when you're counting down to something so big, of course it will fly by. But I never realized that before I knew it, we would be sneaking away for the last time to take a few more photos.

I know I've talked a ton about our venue - and there will be a full venue recap coming! - but I can't get over how absolutely gorgeous it is. Seeing it all lit up was something out of a dream with all the twinkle lights and pretty flowers. Megan and Mark have done such an amazing job making Mustard Seed Gardens into this beautiful space - I couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else! (Oh and Indy bees, if you're thinking about a Mustard Seed wedding, you better hurry! Rumor has it they're almost booked for 2014 already!)

Stacy, being the genius that she is, planned so many wonderful photos for us throughout our day. When I said I had sparklers, she suggested this time lapse photo. We were game, of course, but I have to tell you that it's harder than it looks! You see, someone was running around us with a sparkler and our goal was to not laugh. That's hard to do when someone is RUNNING AROUND YOU WITH A SPARKLER! The best man gave it a shot, and I'm pretty sure tripped on something. Stacy's assistant also tried it out before handing the sparkler over to Stacy. It was pretty funny listening to their comments ("Ouch, a branch!" "Don't light the dress on fire!") while they were running around us, and even harder to keep a straight face. It was obviously worth it, though, to get these gems!

(This is, by far, the fan favorite photo of the wedding. It was the first one that Stacy shared and the one that everyone always asks to see!)

It got dark, and the shenanigans got started. Before the wedding, I had told most of the girls what songs I had put on the must play. Some of them were so ridiculous ("Aaron's Party", anyone?) that I just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one scream-singing them, and some I just thought I should probably share because I knew I was going to break it down and I didn't want it to be just me. ;)

Are you a Pitch Perfect fan? I am. All of us are. So let me assure you: the dances you're about to see were not planned. Everyone knew for sure that I had these songs on my must play list, but in no way did we choreograph or practice the dances we busted out that night.

Otterly in Love: We Snuck Off

For a good cause! More photos, of course! After we did the traditional staff (sans garter toss, remember?), we snuck off with Stacy for more photos.

Before we could sneak off, Cubs and I had to put our anchor bracelets back on. Anchors are kind of a thing with me (in case you hadn't noticed yet ;)), and Cubs and I have these matching bracelets. Since they didn't exactly match the wedding dress (and they tend to get dirty quickly), I had purchased us new ones in advance for us to put on as soon as we had time.

After my bracelet was secure, we went over to the edge of the property and got down to posin'.

(I love this little series! We high five all the time and it often turns into a vicious game of who can high five the longest - things get crazy in the Otter house! - so this was spot on for us.)

As night fell on the barn, the shenanigans inside turned up a level...
